Jeff Allen wants to create a culture shock. A couple of encounters with Canadians made it seem possible. Apologies for the audio quality. The recording quality was not great that night, August 2, 2018 when the theme was "Culture Shock." We'll bring more stories from that night, at least the ones we can hear.

It was Amanda Rodgers' fourth wedding anniversary when we met at Story night in May, so she took the occasion to tell us how she and Chad met. It's a story about breakups, choosing to participate and the things that happen that seem insignificant until huge life changes happen.

If you think you might want to run Ragnar, check this out.

The song for this episode is "Run" by Vampire Weekend.

It's the truth for most of us that when we begin to take seriously our desire for love and romance, we spend a lot of time speaking the wrong language, maybe even singing the wrong tune, or the right one and just not interpreting it the way that works best for us. Alison Loris's story is about that, her own history with love and romance, and what she realized she was looking for. She told it in December 2017 when the night's theme was "Soundtrack."

You will also hear two versions of La Vie en Rose. The English one is by Cristin Milioti and was sung on the TV show "How I Met Your Mother." The French version is by Sophie Millman.

Thank you for listening. We look forward to hearing your story.

20: Corinne Nichol — Literally Falling in Love

Corinne Nichol took flight in her life after her divorce. She realized something else in her life after a brief moment that could have ended differently. Corinne told this story at the January 5, 2017 Story Night. The theme that night was "Life After."

She was the night's winner. In fact, on the three occasions she has spoken, she has walked away with the night's medal. She'll be back on February 2, 2017.

Thank you for listening, we look forward to hearing your story.
