If you are a pilot, there is no end to the detail you must study if you wish to survive. Even then, all that study may not tell you everything you will need to know. And 1,000 feet in the air is one of the worst places for a surprise. Sometimes it takes relying on rules in books that were never written.
John Karnes got his surprise on his first flight in a plane he built. Obviously, he lived to tell that story. He did so at the June 1, 2017 Story Night when the theme was "By the Book."
Thank you for listening. We look forward to hearing your story.
