It's hard to believe now, given all the moisture we've had here in Washington in this winter of 2017, but a couple of years ago summer arrived and it stayed hot and dry. It was so dry that all around the state there were burn bans.
That can put a, no pun intended, damper on your camping plans. I mean, you might still go, but one of the chief attractions is not available to you.
In the summer of 2015, the summer of the great and lengthy burn ban, Megan May went camping with a friend. Since a campfire was verboten, Megan and her friend resorted to an alternative evening activity.
Megan told us this story in August of 2015 when the theme was "The Great Outdoors."
Thanks to Megan for this story. Thank you for listening. We look forward to hearing your story.
